Before the next external audit
ISO 9001 gap assessments and audit readiness.
Find out whether your quality management system is working as intended, where the evidence is thin and which actions matter most before certification, surveillance or recertification. We also review ISO 14001 and ISO 45001 systems.

A clearer view before the pressure of audit day.
An ISO gap assessment compares your current arrangements with the relevant standard and your own documented system. An audit readiness review also looks at whether people can explain and demonstrate the processes in practice. The scope is agreed around your standard, sites and next audit milestone.
Typical lines of enquiry include:
- scope, key processes, responsibilities, objectives and relevant risks;
- evidence that processes are implemented, monitored and improved;
- internal audit, management review and corrective action records; and
- site-level practice and staff understanding where on-site sampling is needed.
For an ISO 9001 gap assessment, this may include customer requirements, process measures, supplier controls, competence, nonconformities and corrective actions. We can also review ISO 14001 environmental and ISO 45001 occupational health and safety systems separately or as an integrated management system. Ask about other standards where relevant.
When it helps
Useful at different stages of the ISO journey.
Preparing for certification
Check whether the documented system and implementation evidence are ready for Stage 1 and Stage 2 discussions.
Maintaining certification
See whether actions, management reviews and operational controls have kept pace before surveillance or recertification.
Changing people or processes
Re-establish what is working after growth, a new site, a handover or a change in key system roles.
Service area
Queensland, Victoria and Australia-wide.
Based in Far North Queensland, we support organisations from Cairns and regional Queensland through Brisbane and South East Queensland, as well as Melbourne and regional Victoria. We also work with multi-site organisations elsewhere in Australia.
Remote document review can be paired with on-site interviews and evidence sampling when that is the right way to test implementation. We agree the delivery approach before work begins.
Common questions
Planning a readiness review.
Is a readiness review the same as a certification audit?
No. It identifies gaps and priorities. iCertify can separately assess the system and decide whether to issue its own unaccredited certificate; an accredited certificate requires an appropriately accredited body.
Can you review an integrated ISO 9001, 14001 and 45001 system?
Yes. We can plan one review around shared processes while keeping the requirements and evidence for each standard clear.
Can the work be done remotely?
Document and record reviews can often start remotely. On-site observation or interviews may be needed to assess how work is actually carried out.
When should we book an ISO 9001 gap assessment?
Allow time to act on the findings before your certification or surveillance audit. Share your audit date when you enquire so we can agree a useful scope and timetable.
