ISO/IEC 27001 certification. Show how you manage information risk.
iCertify can assess an information security management system (ISMS) and issue its own unaccredited ISO/IEC 27001 certificate for an agreed scope following assessment. We can also help identify gaps and organise evidence. Check your customer's tender and supplier requirements first: an iCertify certificate is not JAS-ANZ accredited.

An ISMS is more than a set of security policies.
ISO/IEC 27001 is the international standard for information security management systems. A useful assessment connects the stated ISMS scope to information risks, treatment decisions, controls and evidence that those controls work. We would agree the assessment criteria and the competence needed for your scope before starting.
Depending on your activities, the review may examine:
- the boundaries of the ISMS, information assets and relevant interested parties;
- risk assessment and treatment, including why controls are included or excluded in the Statement of Applicability;
- access, supplier, incident and business continuity arrangements relevant to the scope; and
- monitoring, internal audit, corrective action and management review records.
Documents alone are insufficient: interviews, operational records and suitable sampling help test how the system works. See ISO's explanation of ISO/IEC 27001.
A practical route
From scope to evidence-based decision.
1. Define the boundary
Agree the legal entity, services, systems, locations, standard edition and what the buyer will accept.
2. Test implementation
Review risks, selected controls and records. Identify gaps, address them and use an objective internal audit to test effectiveness.
3. Assess and decide
A human assessor reviews source evidence and findings before iCertify makes any unaccredited certificate decision.
Responsible technology
AI may help organise evidence. People assess it.
We are developing a workflow that may use AI to sort approved records, map possible evidence to the agreed criteria and highlight questions for an assessor. It will not decide conformity or issue a certificate.
Information security records can be sensitive. Before any AI processing, we will agree the tools, permitted material, access, retention and any third-party handling with you. We intend to retain source references, check generated summaries against the originals and let you query errors. Read our responsible AI approach.
Common questions
Before a security management assessment.
Is ISO 27001 the same as ISO/IEC 27001?
People often shorten the name to ISO 27001. The official designation is ISO/IEC 27001. We agree the edition and assessment scope in writing.
Will an unaccredited certificate satisfy a supplier requirement?
Only if the buyer accepts it. Ask whether they require a JAS-ANZ accredited or otherwise specified certificate before choosing a route.
Will AI read our confidential material?
Only within a workflow and data handling arrangements agreed with you. We will explain the proposed tools and any third-party processing before using AI with your records; human reviewers remain responsible for findings.
