ISO 14001 certification. Make the system real.
iCertify assesses environmental management systems and issues its own unaccredited ISO 14001 certificates. We help you find gaps, improve controls and test the evidence across your sites. Based in Queensland, we support Victorian and other Australian organisations. Check whether your buyer requires accredited certification.

Environmental management beyond the policy.
Certification preparation starts with your activities, products and services, and the environmental aspects associated with them. We review the scope of the environmental management system, what matters to interested parties and how obligations, risks, opportunities and objectives are addressed.
Depending on the agreed scope, a gap assessment may examine:
- how significant environmental aspects and impacts are identified and kept current;
- how applicable compliance obligations are identified, evaluated and acted on;
- operational controls for the activities and contractors that can affect environmental performance;
- monitoring, incident response, emergency preparedness and corrective actions; and
- internal audit and management review evidence.
The review tests whether documented arrangements are used at work. On-site observation and interviews may be appropriate alongside remote records review.
The route to the audit
Three practical stages.
1. Understand the scope
Map activities, sites and environmental aspects, then compare existing arrangements with ISO 14001 requirements.
2. Improve controls and evidence
Clarify responsibilities, objectives, operational controls and records that demonstrate implementation in practice.
3. Test and act
Use management review and an objective internal audit to identify remaining issues before iCertify's certification assessment.
Who it suits
Prepare for certification or keep it meaningful.
We can support organisations pursuing ISO 14001 for the first time, preparing for surveillance or recertification, or expanding to additional sites. A review is especially useful when operational changes have outpaced the documented system.
Craig D’Souza is a lead auditor with ISO 14001 experience. iCertify combines audit evidence with practical improvement work. Where we help implement a system, the internal audit must be planned with suitable objectivity safeguards.

Common questions
Before an ISO 14001 audit.
Does ISO 14001 certification prove full legal compliance?
A certificate records an assessment of the management system against the specified standard and scope. It does not replace your organisation's responsibility to identify and meet applicable environmental legal requirements.
Can ISO 14001 be combined with ISO 9001 and 45001?
Yes. Shared management processes can be reviewed together, while environmental aspects, obligations and controls receive their own evidence-based assessment.
What if we are already certified to an earlier ISO 14001 edition?
ISO has published ISO 14001:2026. Confirm the edition and any transition arrangements with your certificate issuer. We can scope a review of the changes relevant to your current environmental system and its evidence. See ISO’s overview of the 2026 edition.
How much will preparation cost?
It depends on the scope, number of sites, current system and support needed. Ask iCertify to quote for its unaccredited assessment and any support. An accredited body quotes separately if that route is required.
