ISO 45001 certification. Test what happens at work.
iCertify assesses health and safety management systems and issues its own unaccredited ISO 45001 certificates. We review the gaps between procedures and practice and test implementation across the agreed scope. Check whether your buyer requires an accredited certificate.

A safety system people can use.
ISO 45001 preparation starts with your work activities, workers, contractors, hazards and risks. We review how responsibilities are assigned, how people participate in identifying problems and whether operational controls are understood and applied.
Depending on the agreed scope, a gap review may cover:
- hazard identification, risk assessment and the effectiveness of controls;
- worker consultation and participation, including how concerns are raised and acted on;
- legal and other requirements relevant to the management system;
- contractor arrangements, competence, incident investigation and emergency preparedness; and
- performance monitoring, internal audit, management review and corrective action.
Records matter, but interviews and observations often show whether a control works on site. We agree the sampling approach before work begins.
The route to the audit
Connect documented controls with actual work.
1. Scope the system
Understand the sites, activities, workers and risks to be included, along with the evidence already available.
2. Close important gaps
Prioritise responsibilities, consultation, risk controls, competence and records that support day-to-day implementation.
3. Verify effectiveness
Use an objective internal audit and management review to assess whether arrangements are working before certification assessment.
Who it suits
For new or established systems.
We support first-time ISO 45001 preparation, surveillance and recertification readiness, and organisations dealing with new activities, contractors or multiple sites. The approach can combine remote planning with on-site interviews and observation.
iCertify is led by Craig D’Souza, a lead auditor experienced in ISO 45001 and operational assurance. If we assist with implementation, internal audit roles and safeguards are agreed so the later audit remains objective.
If quality or environmental systems are also in scope, explore ISO 9001, ISO 14001 and the combined certification pathway.
Common questions
Before an ISO 45001 audit.
Does iCertify issue an ISO 45001 certificate?
Yes. iCertify issues its own unaccredited certificate for the standard and scope assessed. If your contract or tender requires accredited certification, confirm that requirement before choosing this route.
Does ISO 45001 certification replace WHS duties?
No. A management system can support how an organisation manages its work health and safety obligations, but certification does not remove those duties or guarantee compliance with every law.
Can you review sites and contractors?
Yes. We agree the activities and sites to be sampled, then examine how common arrangements and local controls are applied. The exact audit plan depends on the scope and risk.
Can ISO 45001 be audited alongside 9001 and 14001?
Shared processes can be considered together in an integrated system. Health and safety hazards, worker participation and controls still need standard-specific evidence.
