ISO 22000 certification. Make food safety controls visible.
iCertify can assess a food safety management system and issue its own unaccredited ISO 22000 certificate for the agreed food chain activities and scope following assessment. We can help identify gaps and organise evidence. Confirm the exact scheme and accreditation your customer requires before choosing this route.

The system has to work across the food chain.
ISO 22000 sets requirements for a food safety management system for organisations directly or indirectly involved in the food chain. A useful assessment starts with your products, processes, sites and role in the chain, then tests whether hazard controls are defined and working.
Depending on the agreed activities, a review may consider:
- prerequisite programmes and the conditions needed for safe operations;
- hazard analysis, control measures and monitoring of operational controls;
- supplier and product information, traceability, withdrawal and recall arrangements;
- handling of nonconforming product, corrective action and verification; and
- internal audit and management review evidence.
Records, interviews and observation help test implementation. The right sampling and specialist competence depend on your products and processes. See ISO's ISO 22000 standard page.
A practical route
From activities to evidence-based decision.
1. Define the scope
Agree the legal entity, products, sites, food chain activities, standard edition and buyer acceptance criteria.
2. Test controls
Review the hazard analysis, programmes, records and verification. Address gaps and test the system through an objective internal audit.
3. Assess and decide
A human assessor reviews source evidence and findings before iCertify makes any unaccredited certificate decision.
Responsible technology
A clearer evidence trail, with human judgement.
Our developing AI-supported workflow may help organise approved records, identify missing information and track review progress. It cannot replace observation, verification of food safety controls or a person's certificate decision.
Before any AI processing of client records, we will agree the tools, permitted data, access, retention and any third-party handling. We intend to retain source references, check summaries against evidence and make it possible to question errors. Read our responsible AI approach.
Common questions
Before a food safety management assessment.
Is an ISO 22000 certificate the same as a product approval?
No. It records an assessment of a food safety management system against the named standard and scope. Your organisation remains responsible for product safety and applicable legal requirements.
Will a buyer accept iCertify's certificate?
Only if the buyer accepts an unaccredited ISO 22000 certificate. Some customers require an accredited certificate or a different scheme. Confirm their written requirement first.
Will AI decide whether our controls are effective?
No. Technology may organise records and flag questions, but a person must examine the evidence, evaluate controls and decide whether to issue an iCertify certificate.
